Unethical Practices on bookkeeping and filing tax returns.

CNN IBN today exposed an accounting practice that has been very prevalent is most of our urban cities whereby there are a few CA’s who doctor the documents to file tax returns thereby robbing (not evading ) the tax man himself. This expose was recently conducted by CNN IBN as a part of a series of sting operations conducted by them in different cities. Professional integrity and ethics at any point of time should never be compromised. This might indirectly result in lower performance and resultant loss both to the individual and the corporate as such. It takes a lot of effort to create a brand image and the small pittance for which some professionals resort to such unscrupulous practices leads to more damage that what can be viewed upfront. Some of the practices that have been outlined in the video of the sting have been claims made by few of the charterted accountants in the market. The mistakes of the few results in tarnishing the image of the professional community at large.
